Habitat for Humanity Los Angeles

Habitat for Humanity Los Angeles

A really great organization that is out and about the Los Angeles area is Habitat for Humanity Los Angeles. Who are they and what do they do? They purpose is to lift working families out of an endless cycle of poverty housing so they can build brighter economic futures.

Here's a video of some of their adventures::

Their mission to establish our Habitat affiliate as the premier agency that
provides affordable housing in small neighborhoods and connect families to social
services that promote education and self-sufficiency.
Habitat for Humanity SF/SCV was founded in 1990 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Our affiliate is charged with serving North Los Angeles City and County, including the Antelope Valley. It is locally run, independent, and a 501(c)3 non-profit organization incorporated in the State of California.
The owners represent the working poor, earning wages at about 50% of the average income of the region. Following the core tenets of Habitat International, we believe that each affiliate is responsible to its community to develop home ownership programs that meet the unique needs of the people it serves. By keeping home costs far lower than market value, offering zero (0) interest loans and allowing families to invest sweat equity, families are able to afford a home who would never otherwise realize this dream.
